World Fairytales: Passports to Different Cultures

October 23, 2017

We continue to use our fairytale passports as we explore different cultures around the world!

These past few weeks we have been focusing on the continent of Europe, the heart of all the classical fairytales!

We learned about Golidlocks and the three bears and learned about important aspects of England’s culture, such as the Big Ben, the London Bridge song, and of course, fish and chips!

Our fairytales also flew us across northern europe as we learned about “The Ugly Duckling” and the country of Denmark.

After reading the book entitled, we also learned about the famous country of Italy, the creators of Pizza and the leaning tower of Pisa; don’t those two words sound similar?

Did you know, the story of the Boy who cried Wolf is a classic that was initially in Greek?

The goal of the class in addition to overall enhancement of literacy through play, is to promote cultural awareness, in order to make the world safe for human differences! So join us every Thursday, from 1-4pm! 🙂
