Top Tips – Part 1
Flexible occasional childcare is a bit of a new phenomenon, and we know it can take some getting used to. No worries! It’s been a learning curve for us, too, and we’ve been keeping notes. The list below is related primarily to our website, and will probably be followed later by all the issues we’ve missed, but hopefully some of the suggestions/solutions will work for you:
1. “Permission Denied” when I try to make a purchase from the website
I think this message appears when you leave your Buddings Account open on your computer/laptop for a few hours (or close it without shutting down), and then try to make a purchase without logging in again. The site doesn’t log you out, but the connection between the site and the credit card processing site has been lost.
Suggestion: Try refreshing the page, log in, and try again.
2. I thought I made a booking, but I’m not on the list.
All your bookings, past and future, should appear on your Booking Calendar, so if you don’t see it, it didn’t take. If this continues, feel free to contact Talia, or get a review of the process next time you’re in. The 2nd most common reason this happens is that people forget to hit “Book”, after selecting hours. The #1 most common reason is an error on the date. Did you make your booking for a different day? It happens. 🙂
3. Forgot my swipe card
Suggestion: Try keeping it in your wallet. If it’s in an outside pocket, you don’t even need to take it out to unlock the door.
4. I need to do a drop off on the half hour to get to my appointment on time.
It’s tricky to get engaged in activities when kids are coming and going every hour, and half hour increments would make it impossible, but you can drop kids off 10 minutes before the hour as part of our regular service. If you need to do a drop off 15 minutes before the hour, it’s really not a problem, especially if you give us a call to let us know. If it has to be more than that, you will have to book into the previous hour, and do the drop whenever you’re ready.
Suggestion: Ask for appointments on the half hour instead. Most service providers can accomodate the request and then you’ll have the time you need to get there, without paying for hours at Buddings that you don’t really need.
