The Ins and Outs

All the kids know their stuff belongs in the “cubby, cubby, cubby.” They even remind themselves about it as they shuffle over with their shoes, lunch boxes, and treasures. As they get a bit older, they soon learn the whole system for keeping the cubbies labeled and clear, but while they’re learning, sometimes they need a bit of help.

Can you help us remind them of the steps? There are 4 at each end of the visit.

Arrival:

1. Choose a cubby for coats and boots, and anything else that doesn’t need to come into the daycare. Feel free to leave your stroller in the front, as well.

2. Grab the cubby card, and use the markers on the white board to write their name and pick-up time.

3. The card, diaper kit, snacks, water bottle, and everything else comes inside, to the cubbies under the bathroom window.

4. The card magnets to the inside of the cubby so the teachers can see whose stuff belongs to whom.

Departure:

1. When you take things out of the cubby, check to make sure everything is there.

–> Why not have a browse through the Left and Found? See anything you like?

2. Use one of the erasers, above the cubbies, or on the white board and erase the card.

3. Return it to the cubby, clean and ready for the next kids.

4. Don’t forget to check the art box and sign out.

Have you ever had to remind anyone about hitting the gong? We didn’t put it on the list, since that’s one thing that never gets forgotten. 🙂

We’re all trying to make sure everything goes home with the right kids. Even they are getting really good at recognizing their water bottles and containers, but if you could take a moment to write their name on everything, it would be even easier.
