Rainbow Volcano Project

Last week was very exciting at Buddings as the kids undertook a multi-day project to build, paint, and explode a rainbow volcano!
One of our all-star kids came up with the idea, so we gathered supplies, cut paper into strips and other shapes for paper mache, and soon it was time to build our volcano! We used strips of newspaper, paper mache glue, and a bottle for the lava chamber inside the volcano. It took a long time to paste all the layers, and a long time to dry! The next step was to paint it in as many colours as possible. Finally, after several days of anticipated excitement, we were ready to “explode” our volcano!
What a fun project to round up our Natural Wonders month.
