Permits at last
Yesterday the electrical and plumbing inspectors were in. They checked out the work and gave us the okay-go to put up the drywall. Thank goodness! It’s been so long since the framing went in that I feel like we’ve been stagnating. Lots of other parts have been happening, which is great, but those parts aren’t the things that look like progress. I finished the cubbies, so that’s exciting, and the front desk is coming together. Your first impression of Buddings is our biggest concern right now!
The chairs, that I had expedited from… Texas? Or New Jersey? arrived this week (so glad I paid triple the price to have them here in time for…what?). Now there are even more boxes laying around. And it’s turned out to be great that we don’t have furniture for our new apartment, because we now can use it as a staging area for the kitchen, audio, and decor-type stuff that would get wrecked at the location.
When my workplace is a construction area, and my home is a storage unit, I start to feel stressed out.
Know what cheers me up when I’m a full-on stress case? Ice cream? Yes!
We bought an ice cream/frozen yogurt maker for the Open House! It works great! And Jenny has a great idea for how we can make it better for our buddies’ health: natural sugar replacements.
Stevia, yacon root, agave, and honey are all alternatives to straight processed sugar, and have properties that benefit your health. Stevia can help regulate the pancreas, yacun root supplies food for beneficial bacteria in the colon, and using raw honey can help with the treatment of some allergies.
“Healthy” isn’t the most exciting word in a preschooler’s vocabulary, but if it tastes great, and they get to help make it, we think our buddies will learn to love the healthy treat we’re working to create for them!
