Membership Fees Explained

June 3, 2014
Written by: Talia

1. Does the membership fee include or cover hours?

It doesn’t. The membership fee covers access to the centre and our service, and allows families the flexibility of purchasing and booking time whenever they need. The recurring monthly fee (automatically deducted) keeps the account open without minimum usage, or deadlines, or any other requirements. It makes it possible for us to provide social and stimulating childcare with as little one hour’s notice.

2. What does it cover?

Account access and maintenance (answering and resolving questions or requests, any time), swipe cards for the centre, issuing roll-over hours, staffing the centre at all times, integration for new families and on-going support, tax receipts at the end of the year and whenever you finish your term, exceeding the licensing standards with regard to health, safety, and quality of care, trained educators who love their jobs, and most importantly, a fun, social experience for your children whenever you want.

3. Why was I billed on the 25th of the month?

Membership fees, snacks, and extra hours and late fees are all billed on the 25th of the month. The receipts can be found on your dashboard.

4. What do you mean “late fees”?

If children are not picked up by 10 past the hour, they are booked into the next hour, at the cost of one hour. If the hour is available in your account, we will ask you to sign your agreement, and if it is not available, we will bill you for it on the 25th of the month. We will always ask you to sign your agreement for all billing.

5. Why does the switch/exit form have to be returned by the 15th of the month when the hours are good until the end of the month?

When you end your membership, we will make sure you are removed from the monthly payment list (deducted on the 25th), and that your switch/exit is processed. If we do not receive it on time, we will automatically cancel you for the following month.

Any extra hours owing will be billed on the 25th of your last month. Some snacks may be processed on the 25th of the following month.

6. Are there any other fees I should know about?

For the most part, we ask that you return your door card on your last visit as a Regular Member. If we do not receive it, you will be billed $25 on the 25th of the next month.

Flexible occasional childcare may not work for every family, or it may be a perfect fit, just for a couple of months. In any case, for so long as your membership runs, we will do our part to ensure the system and centre reflect and serve your needs. And if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
