Hola Budding Children’s Garden and Daycare!

My name is Denet and I am so excited to be joining this wonderful team of teachers and getting to know children and parents better. I come all the way from the sunniest side of Mexico, the hot desert of Sonora. I came here by myself to live a new experience just as a tourist and a couple of months later I decided I wanted to work as a teacher again and stay in Canada doing what I love, teach.

I’ve been living in Vancouver for a year and 9 months now and I absolutely love it! What do I like about it? I love how multicultural the city is and getting to know people from all over the world and learning about their culture. It is definitely a rainy city but without this rain we wouldn’t have all this green mountains and enjoy the hikes to Lynn Valley, right?

And I bet we all love it in the summer, of course! It’s just great to have a walk at Stanley Park or being at the beach all day just enjoying the beautiful view or playing some volleyball. Since I’ve been here I have met wonderful people with different inspiring stories. So, yeah! Vancouver has been treating me well and I am so thankful to be living here now.

My hobby number one is dancing! Back in Mexico I used to set up choreographies to a group of girls and it was so much fun! I enjoyed dancing at a group of dancers around my age as well. We used to dance different kinds of Latin rhythms and present them in different cultural events. I just believe dancing is the best way to have fun and shake out the stress!

I have previous experience working as a teacher with children of different ages back in Mexico. I studied the B.A in English Language Teaching in the University of Sonora and later on I worked at a summer camp teaching to children from ages 2 to 12.

I am really passionate for what I do and I enjoy it a lot! Being a preschool teacher is so much fun and being around kids just makes my day better. I am sure this will be a wonderful experience!

Sincerely,

Denet
