Fall Bike to Buddings

October 4, 2012
Written by: Talia

You may think that biking season is coming to a close, but the BikeHub’s Fall edition of Bike to Work Week is designed to change your mind. Vancouver autumn is beautiful for biking, and with the blue blue sky, leaves changing colour, and the heat dialed down, it’s actually one of the nicest times of the year.

At Buddings, we’re all about biking, and we’re super excited to invite you to join us for the second Bike to Buddings challenge – from Oct. 29 – Nov. 4, 2012. To sign up, go to the Bike to Work Week website and register yourself. If your workplace is already on the list, or you’d rather create a team for your co-workers, go for it! You can also join the Buddings Daycare team by searching for us and adding yourself. The registration process can seem a bit circuitous, but we know you can do it!

While you set up your account, you’ll be asked to plot your route, or routes (as many as you need), and then each day that you ride, you log your trip. The website calculates the distance you travel, the calories you burn, and even the amount of CO2 that would have been emitted if you’d made the same trip by car.

We came in 33rd for businesses with less than 11 employees in the Spring, and with your help, we know we can do better this time around. We’ll even make it worth your while with a seasonal treat: Anyone who joins our team and logs at least one trip will get snacks all November for free! No tricks!
