Introducing: Jayme Ross
If you’ve been in recently, you’ll have seen our newest teacher, Jayme Ross, and are probably wondering what she’s like. Right? It’s a fair question, and after working with her for the past week, we have some answers for you.
Jayme has worked with toddlers ever since she finished her Early Childhood Education Infant/Toddler Diploma in 2011. She was hired straight out of her practicum placement in the toddler room at Our Children’s Centre in Victoria, and was there for two years, where she became the acting senior teacher. She has lots of patience with this age group, and has fantastic natural consequence explanations for all their questions and ideas. That’s an essential talent for the inevitable, and unending “whys” we encounter in the run of a day! 😉
As our resident Toddler Specialist, she’ll be helping the regular staff with toddler-specific concerns, around separation, anxiety, and dum dum dum… tantrums. Not that we have a lot of them here, but it’s always nice to have an expert! Starting next week, she’ll also be taking over our Art of the Week feature, and if you receive a note from her, it will mean your child’s art is on display for the week on our homepage, so watch for it!
She’s got Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar as a felt!, lots of buttons, and a passion and endless energy for inspiring toddlers, so it’s no wonder the kids are already chanting her name. You’re sure to hear even more about her soon!
