Buddings is 3 Years Old! Thank you so much!!

This month marks Buddings’ third anniversary… I can hardly believe it.

The doors of our brand-new daycare concept opened on Nov. 18, 2011, and at that time, we had two teachers, a total of zero members, 25 subscribers to our newsletter (most of them friends and family members), and social media accounts with a few friends, and followers, but no posts, or history.

From there to here, it has been three years of mind-blowing growth and development for both my daycare and myself, and I want to mark the milestone.

I am so appreciative to everyone who supported me, and believed in me, and trusted me to this point. Long before people could entrust their children to our care, Buddings’ investors and advisors helped me bring an idea into reality. And now here’s my vision, full of children and laughter, teachers, and learning.

Buddings wouldn’t be here without all those people, and while I thank my community, I’m also proud to have brought us all together. It has been quite a journey, filled with changes and challenges. And, of course, it’s not over yet!

At the end of this week, our warm and wonderful teacher, Denet Albores, will be stepping back from her responsibilities as the centre’s only full-time teacher until we hear back from Service Canada about her visa renewal (more details here). Keeping one foot in the water, she’ll be volunteering for her shift on Fridays, Exploring Dance with the kids, and keeping us all on our toes. If Friday isn’t your normal day, you can also reach her at Denet@buddings.ca.

The amazing and talented Lisa Sars, of Butterfly Feet Yoga Dance, will be filling in some of the gaps in the schedule until the middle of January, when her full-time gig – as a children’s dance instructor extraordinaire – will call her back to her “normal life.” 😉

As many Buddings members know, running a small business is a never-ending learning exercise. After three years of huge support, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that there’s no end in sight! So, here we go: Bring on Year 4!
