Surprise! We had a Bee Party!
The sun did not shine, and it was too cool for swimming, but last Saturday’s bee party was a great day for planting!
We lived up to our name (Budding Children’s Garden), by having the kids plant our big green garden boxes, and made it fun by having them serenaded while they worked!
Huge THANK YOUS to everyone who came out, because this party was all about building community. As part of the Vancouver Neighbourhoods Small Grants program, our focus was on engaging our friends and neighbours to help us! And they sure did!
Our friend Adam helped to plan and plant the boxes, the servers at IHOP ran a lemonade stand, and Sara’s bee photo booth helped everyone get into the mood!

If you were at the party, and haven’t received the full set of photos, email Talia for the link to the Dropbox folder. (We never post identifiable pics of kids, but their shining smiles are available for families in a private collection.)
More thank yous go to our party prize sponsors, Tea Sparrow, Love Child Organics, Deja Brew, and World Reclaimed. Four local businesses who support daycares, bees, and kids connecting with nature!
And the winners are…
Cam and Charlotte win a $50 gift box of Love Child Organics preservative-free pouches, snack puffs, and bars.
Emma wins a cool new bird hangout and feeder from World Reclaimed.
Asher’s family wins a one-month tea subscription from Tea Sparrow.
Marlow’s family wins a $20 gift card from Deja Brew coffee house (right across the street from Buddings!)
